Arrive before 11am or after 3pm — mornings and mid-afternoons are quietest. Lunch (12–2pm) and evenings fill up fast, so grab a table with an outlet early.
Most Gueliz and Hivernage cafés run 10–50 Mbps fibre — plenty for video calls. Medina riads are slower and walls are thick, so keep a local eSIM (Maroc Telecom, Orange, inwi) as backup.
Order a pot of mint tea (thé à la menthe) or a nous-nous coffee to hold your table for hours. Nursing one drink through the afternoon is completely normal here — no one will rush you.
Gueliz is the modern café district — third-wave coffee, air-conditioning and the most reliable WiFi. Hivernage has upscale hotel lounges, while the Medina offers atmospheric riad courtyards that trade speed for charm.
